It's all gambling (hiring a coach). And when it comes to USF men's bball, it's gambling with a curse in play. Here's what I know: Next season is a wash. If we even get to .500, I'll feel blessed. I mean we are the school that fired Heath and got Orlando and his brother. The investigation was/is a bonus. I'm not watching any of the NCAA tournament games! bcgruber Posted March 14, 2017 Group: Member Topic Count: 257 Content Count: 2,407 Reputation: 163 Days Won: 5 Joined: 03/24/2008 Author Share Posted March 14, 2017 Steve Forbes, East Tennessee StateRecord at ETSU: 51-19 in two seasons Forbes, 51, is a tireless recruiter who built his reputation on finds like luring Paul Millsap to Louisiana Tech when he was an assistant there. He also went 61-6 as a junior college coach at Northwest Florida State, a job he took in part because of a one-year NCAA show-cause penalty that could scare off some schools. No. 13 East Tennessee is talented enough to upset No. 4 Florida, which would make Forbes a hot name. Kevin Keatts, UNC WilmingtonRecord: 72-27 in three seasons Keatts, 44, has won a share of the Colonial Athletic Association title in all three of his seasons and has the Seahawks in back-to-back NCAA Tournaments. UNCW led Duke at halftime of their first-round NCAA game last season and the No. 12 Seahawks have emerged as the trendy upset pick over No. 5 Virginia in the first round this year. It would be surprising if Keatts doesn’t have a high-profile job next season, as he’s the hottest of the mid-major coaches.

I can believe the story of Dambrot turning us down. I'm ambivalent regarding the Brian Gregory hire, and I really hope he's successful. I'll probably be renewing my tickets next season because I think I'm basketball masochist.

Would rather throw more money toward the WBB program.
