Haha D'Onta Foreman just put up 2,028 yds in only 12 games on the way to a Doak Walker trophy in that exact offense.

Only 600 yards less than Flowers/Mack put up.  In fact, Flowers/Mack almost outrushed Texas' entire team, and that doesn't include Johnson and Adams rushing yards.

As good as a year as Foreman had, USF's rushing attack was a lot better than Texas' rushing attack.

USF: 3709 rushing yards.  6.5 YPC, 47 rushing TD's

Texas: 2871 rushing yards, 4.8 YPC, 27 rushing TD's

Those are all salient points but the argument was against the silly notion that Mack didn't think he'd be a good fit in an offense that just had a 2000 yard year from a rb .... which is kind of ridiculous.

It's a big loss for next year's team. I wish him all the best!

Yes, there are a lot of RBs in this draft. But Mack is different in that he has vision and is not just a speed man.

Maybe at the combine he will do great and help himself with the final rankings and draft status.

Also, school is always there and he can come back later to get his degree.

Was watching a show 2 or 3 days ago and heard someone, maybe Steve Young (maybe not), mention that it is actually rare that these guys actually do go back to get a degree.  Something like 18 - 20 percent.  But after spending 10 minutes searching online can't find any evidence of that.

Selfishly I want him to stay...

but... I don't think he can really prove anything more. As a Steelers fan, I'd be fine with taking Mack in 5,6,7 to spell bell every now and then.

I'm pretty sure Chucky & B.B. came back and graduated from USF. I'm sure there are others.

Heck, Steve Masiello waited a long time and finally came back to get his degree. :D

If they do go back it's not always at the same school either. USF has an alum in the NFL with over 9,000 receiving yards and 57 TD's and he never played a down here. If he goes back to get his degree good on him but if the NFL is where his heart is then he made the right decision for him.
