If he doesn't get drafted or decides what round he goes, can he turn it down?  Or, is he now done because he declared?

As long as he doesn't sign with an agent he can come back

Not given good advice?  The advice he got was from people closer to the situation than you or I ever will be...as in his family, coaches, scouts, etc.  This isn't some NBA hopeful who drops out of school a year early only because he wants to get paid earlier.  It's a running back - the position with the shortest shelf life in all of pro sports.  Who knows what would've happened next season with this team or his health?  Add in the fact that he grew up in a family that wasn't as privileged as 99% of this board and the decision was probably rather easy for him.

If Marlon puts on a little muscle, which he will, watch out.  Would love to see the Bucs snag him in round 4-5 but as long as he lands in the right situation, I really think he could be one of the better rookies next season.  He's got the complete skill set you look for in a feature back.

We don't know who he eventually listened to.  Seemed a couple of days before that his parents thought he was staying at USF.  Could be an agent, maybe a scout.  I hope it works out for him.  Closest we got in the past to watching a USF RB in the NFL was Andre Hall.  So hard to believe he didn't make it.

That only applies to the NBA, not NFL. As soon as he puts his name in the hat, and January 16th passes, he gone.

Greatest USF RB ever.

Will be hard to replace.

He was the dude that I had people out here watch the last few years.  He has talent.  People also now enjoy QF.

I wish Marlon well.  Hope he stays healthy and gets a real shot to stick somewhere.

Our best ever QB/RB/WR combination is now 2/3 gone.  Need Spring to get here.

We'll be fine. One thing we can say now is that we have depth. We were spoiled with Adams and Mack but Scantling, Tice, Johnson, Solomon, and not to even mention some of the other good recruits this team has brought in should be more than enough to keep this offense explosive. Also, we still have Q running this thing. The concern should be relatively limited.

McCants will do big things next year with increased snaps.

If by miracle he comes back, we would have to play Return of the Mack constantly.

http://www.ncaa.org/remaining-eligible-professional-draft-inquiries

A current student-athlete loses amateur status in a particular sport by asking to be placed on the draft list or supplemental draft list of a professional league in that sport. Amateur status is lost even if the athlete’s name is withdrawn from the draft list before the actual draft, the athlete is not drafted, or the athlete is drafted but does not sign an agreement with a professional team.
