I think the hire needs to be someone who would generate some interest by himself ... someone fairly familiar to even the fringe college basketball fans ... and the only one who really fits that out of names tossed around is Grant. Pitino, because of his name, would be another but I don't know why he would leave Minnesota at this time ..... except for the weather. Grant would be the basketball version of CCS .... although I think he already has turned us down at least once but maybe he's ready for that challenge.

The level of AAC basketball coaches as stepped up a bit. Considering the quality of the coaches in conference I lean towards Anthony Grant. Richard Pitino won most of his goes out of conference.

The comparison of Grant to Strong is spot-on. Well-known names who were a part of chamionships as assistants. Both hot coaching prospects after success but flamed out after taking "better" jobs. Both with strong Florida ties.

Pitino would be amazing but good luck getting him away from Minnesota.
