Wait, you actually think G5 could force TWO teams to get access?

I didn't realize they legalized it in Texas yet. Pass that good stuff this way my man. :)

I do.  Didn't the  threat of legal action force the end of the BCS and the current playoff?  Additionally a playing game is one team access.

It can happen under Trump. Champion of equality and the lower classes.

Any threat of legal action was made by the people in power looking to get more money. I am not sure President Obama (or Trump) will get behind the G5 and try and force access. Who knows maybe I am being too pessimistic, but I just don't envision a future where USF or any G5 school has a legitimate shot.

He'll probably appoint Bowlsby to lead the committee.

They don't... But the G5 (is worth a lot of money together) --

And it was because of legal action; why the P5 guaranteed NY6 auto access (they threw us a bone)... Big East lost while the G5 won that battle.

Now, round two...

Expand to 6 team playoff... take each P5 conference champion and the highest ranked G5 team. Top 2 seeds get a round 1 bye. That is what I would like to see.

I think this works with a caveat.  The G5 team has to have a qualifying ranking - maybe top 15?  That's where Western Michigan is.  Or maybe an exception to the ranking requirement if the top G5 team goes undefeated.

I don't think the G5 should get a seat if it produces a bunch of 10-2 or 9-3 teams that defeat nobody.  I think if we had beaten FSU and Temple and won the AAC title game then we'd have been in the Top 15 pretty easily.

Despite the weak schedule, I think we'll finish in the Top 15 or Top 10 if we go undefeated even on a weak schedule because I suspect we'll start in the Top 25.

A Top 15 requirement or undefeated requirement is fair if they expand.  If none of the G5 meets that then the 6th sport can go to another P5 school.

At this point, a 12-team playoff would work best.

EVERY conference champ gets in, that accounts for 10 spots. Winning your conference has meaning. Two wild-card spots, because it doesn't mean EVERYthing

Top 4 seeded conference champs get a bye (wild-cards cannot have a bye)

Remaining 8 teams play in 4 bowl games the weekend before Christmas (12/23-24 this year) 5-12, 6-11, 7-10, 8-9

4 more playoff bowls on New Years Eve and Day 12/31-1/1

Semi's on the following Saturday (1/7/2017) at the home fields of the two highest remaining seeds

NCG the Saturday after 1/14/2017 at a neutral site

School starts back up the week of the 16th for most schools

This will kill non power 5 conferences.  Bad idea.

They (We) are already killed. I'm all for it. We are (non P5 conferences) are total bastards right now. Purgatory and already not "relevant" in the big picture.
