QF does not pick the competition. Regardless, neither has delivered a Conf Champ and that is all that matters.

We've played a few quality teams. Our defense is what makes us look bad

Give this team the 07 defense I'm pretty sure we could be undefeated.

Defense has many issues now.

You're right about the competition. QF also doesn't pick the D coordinator. I'm just saying Matt Grothe's era and team vs this. No comparison yet.

Those teams had the defense we are so desperately needing.

Matt's 07 team had the signature wins the 16 team (or 15 team) does not.  The 07 team won a road game in the big stadium against a hostile (though certainly very polite) fans...the 16 team beat up a bad Syracuse team on its homecoming in a half-full Carrier Dome. The 07 team won its big home game against a Top 10 opponent...the 16 team could not keep up with FSU.  I understand why Matt would feel the way he does.

The 16 team has a chance for a signature win this Friday.  Let's hope they bounce back from adversity and get the job done.  Go Bulls.

I think it's the best offense, but due to the defense would lose to an 07-09 squad, and many other teams.

I think Grothe is foolish dissing the current players and staff.

This is what gets me.  Why should USF be able to dominate the conference?  The other teams have Athletic Depts, coaches and players.  What is the inherent difference between USF and UCF?  Same number of students.  UCF has been playing football longer.  Budgets are probably close.  I just don't see why the F people on this board think there is something mystical about USF.  Never won anything.  Didn't UCF win a big bowl game a few years ago.  I just don't get it.  I don't.

I'm with you on this. Not sure why some of our fans feel entitled. There are some quality programs in this conference.

I like Grothe and all but that's kind of a cheap shot. Temple is also having some of the best years they have ever had on the field. Just like Rutgers (who is overall one of the worst football programs ever) was at the time. How many times did Grothe beat Rutgers who is losing 78-0 these days? Also what did that 07 team do again? Get ranked then crap the bed in conference play by losing 3 straight then got their asses kicked in the bowl game.

Temple isn't any good this year. They lost to Army and should have lost to UCF. Rutgers from 06-08 was a very good team with an NFL all star RB. Don't compare  the current Rutgers team to when Grothe played them.
