don't know how many of you saw this today but here is the story.

http://www.wtsp.com/news/investigations/usf-athletics-propped-up-by-students-funds/98158898

Noah Pransky also shared the full athletic budget with everyone for 2015.

Kinda seems like they are trying to paint the picture of USF floating our athletics program with unnecessary student fees.

If the student fees are needed to float the athletics programs that makes them necessary ....

Pretty much just another day at the office. In looking over the article, the bottom line is that the revenue stream needed to support the program(s) relies heavily on student fees. You'll note that donor contributions and season ticket sales have waned, and given the nature of Tampa sports fans in particular, they may be some time in recovering. I really do believe that the P5/G5 demarcation did deal the program a severe blow.

Nah, sports is one of the main reasons that USF has grown academically with more students applying. The 2007 season had a somewhat Flutie effect. What we did need was Obama to keep his promise about shaking up college sports to make it a more level playing field for football. He wanted a 12 to 16 team playoff to give every division 1 school a shot. We now know that he lied just to get more votes.

Good god, I dislike Obama and think he has been a terrible President, but to blame any of this on him makes you look like a nut job.

Smazza, the point is that at some point you have to make a move and do it. RJS is going to be new again this season, which helps us, but long term with the way the Glazers treat USF as tenants we need our own stadium. I'm sick and tired of everyone else getting to use the announced attendance, and then TSA and the local media come and cut us off at the knees by reporting the actual.

You forgot to add, "...and woefully ignorant of executive branch power."

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
