are people really suggesting that Taggart getting a transfer is somehow a reason to give him an extra year? Insane.

 

Part of the reason that this transfer is so important is because Taggart has been terrible at recruiting HS QBs... If there isn't notable improvement this season Taggart has to be gone.

I don't think you're reading those posts correctly.  I think the point is that Taggart MAY be able to argue that this year sucked because he had no true QB, and finally has one...and should be given one year with him.

 

As I noted above, I think that's a Taggart argument to make...but I think if the season is abysmal, Harlan will realize we're move than an unproven QB away from where he wants to be.

Getting Woulard will not save taggarts job if he doesn't show significant progress in every area. If he finishes 4-8 or 5-7 he would have to show tremendous progress in the offensive production. If the offense doesn't show much improvement taggart will be dismissed by Harlan

Best news to come out for USF Football in a long time. I also believe this will elevate QF's level of play also knowing that he has to prove himself and the job isnt his to keep. If only AW could become eligible this year....

In the long run, we are probably better off with him not playing this year. It will give him more time to get acclimated with the plays and with the team. He also might help with recruiting over the next several years, since other players will want to play with him.

Having said that, I'd still be happy if he could get a hardship waiver. LOL

Not sure if anyone else heard this, but as I was driving home, Tom Krasniqi was doing an update on 620, and he reported that Woulard was transferring to "UC-" and then corrected himself, "USF."  I almost drove off the road.
