We went from no QB prospects to 3... still none for 2015 however. Maybe Bench ups his game. Edited June 29, 2015 by Gismo

Not without a winning season (or .500 or greater) Harlan will dismiss a coach if the on-field performance doesn't match

Apparently they have a golden child as a freshman, and a pretty good QB that looked to beat AW out. Maybe he didn't like his odds, or maybe he wanted to go home and know he has a great shot at starting 2 years, with a pretty good backfield and some talent (if green) WRs. I don't think that Harlan is in a hurry to get rid of him. He realizes that it is going to take more time than just this year to build USF football into a conference contender. I think we will do better than .5 though.

If I'm Taggart and go 4-8 or 5-9, I'm pleading my case to Harlan: Yeah, we can't win, as I have no QB. I reeled in the highest rated QB ever for USF...you can't fire me before I get at least a year to have him run my offense. If we don't bowl after 1 year with AW, fire me! If he's a trainwreck, I think Harlan cans him. And, maybe anything less than a bowl, and Harlan says, "Yeah, Taggart wants a year with AW...but may [insert new coach here] can REALLY accomplish big things with this talent!". I do think it's good for Flowers, as it's his year to step up and make AW fight him to win the starting shot. if AW beats him, QF will always know he got a shot. Not sure Kean loves this, but he has to appreciate USF's need to chase QB talent. Bench likely doesn't care, as he's done after this year.

Adding another QB with potential is a good and positive move; it's no worse than signing another one out of high school. Again, I think we go bowling. There have been too many good moves to say that we will stink again. (1) good defense? I think so. I think we will be solid. (2) can we score TDs on offense? I think so. I think CWT has seen the light. For AW to transfer to USF, I think that has to be the message: we are opening things up on offense. I'm very optimistic! Next year it will be QF,AW and Kean that would be pretty good competition and one should stand out. I really believe that the defense will be good enough this year and the offense will be better to lead us to 6 wins or more.

Insane. Part of the reason that this transfer is so important is because Taggart has been terrible at recruiting HS QBs... If there isn't notable improvement this season Taggart has to be gone.
