If memory serves me correctly, Kean and White were on the same team for a while in high school and friends .... Don't know if that would matter or not about him still coming here.

He redshirted his first year.  Played his first game as a redshirt freshman.

When Grothe came to USF there was also a higher rated player that also came in and many expected to win the spot. So forget about ratings

The fact that Taggart hasn't already made Kean the starting QB shows what a terrible coach he is and that he has absolutely no idea how to evaluate and develop QB talent!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I think Grothe started his RS freshman year as the 4th or 5th guy on the depth chart.  A lightly recruited local kid.  Sometimes you catch lightning in a bottle.
