I'm confused. We still have room for an OC hire, assuming Woodie leaves. We had 4 guys filling 5 spots. Right now we, have 2 guys filling 3 spots. Assuming we have the remaining hires fill 1 spot, that's 4 guys for 5 spots.

Losses:

  • Wulff (OL/OC)
  • Cooper (DB)
  • Woodie* (LB)
  • Breezy (DC)

Gains:

  • Allen (DC/LB)
  • Hope (OL)
  • ??? (DB)
  • ??? (OC)

Am I missing something?

Yes. Woodie has not left... and there's no guarantee that Allen would do double duty.

Losses:

  • Wulff (OL/OC)
  • Cooper (DB)
  • Breezy (DC)

Gains:

  • Allen (DC)
  • Hope (OL)
  • ??? (DB)

I think it's a bigger leap that Allen won't also coach LB's than the leap you made of CWT taking OC responsibilities. Have you seen any actual statements or did you just apply the power of math and come up with said conclusion?

OH FFS I just went and checked all the media outlets. You are right Jim...it sounds like Coach T will be calling the plays with advisement from Kinnan. My apologies.

This will end great I'm sure.

No worries, Hem.

If CWT is going to be evaluated based on this season... he wants to make sure it's not because of someone else's failure.

WTH, CWT has been evaluated as a failure for two consecutive years.................period.  Who else failed him?  You do realize he's the H f'ing Coach right?

Taggart is already an extra offensive coach looking at the assistant split.  We can't have only three defensive coaches to five offensive (plus Taggart makes six).  The only way an outside OC is coming, is if another coach is let go or leaves.

Offense:

Ron Dugans (WR)

Stu Holt (TE)

Telly Lockette (RB)

David Reaves (QB)

Defense

Tom Allen (DC)

Eric Mathies (DL)

Raymond Woodie (LB)

@38Godfrey  Â·

As we first reported days ago, former Purdue HC Danny Hope is headed to USF. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2014/12/15/7397879/danny-hope-usf-purdue-coach â€¦

Since USF has only 1 offensive position open, and Hope will be the OL coach... it means that CWT will be his own OC

(NOTE: The CWT to be OC is not actually in the report ... but the only remaining open position is the DB coach)

That's pure speculation on your part. Don't rile up the natives with that.

Premium sites still stay strong that Kinnan will be at USF and be playcalling.

Our program is an absolute joke if we hire Kinnan.

Offense:

Ron Dugans (WR) - Lazy routes and dropped passes

Stu Holt (TE) - IF they got open, more dropped passes

Telly Lockette (RB) - Need to work on ball security

David Reaves (QB) - Either has near ZERO talent to work with, or is NOT a QB coach.

Defense

Tom Allen (DC) - Sounds like a good hire.

Eric Mathies (DL) - Hopefully can learn from Allen

Raymond Woodie (LB) - â€‹Wish him luck in whatever decisions he makes...

CWT said when he came hear that he was going to run his offense and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Of course, I originally thought that meant the other team...

Offense:

Ron Dugans (WR) - Lazy routes and dropped passes Dugans can't catch the ball for them, only teach them to run their routes. I've seen him in practice yell at players for not running all the way to the endzone on their routes

Stu Holt (TE) - IF they got open, more dropped passes Again, Holt can't catch the ball for them. Just taught them to run routes, which they ran pretty well and were open quite a bit. McFarland and Price broke some big plays out there

Telly Lockette (RB) - Need to work on ball security Freshman RBs bound to make some mistakes, that being said,RB play was outstanding

David Reaves (QB) - Either has near ZERO talent to work with, or is NOT a QB coach. Not sure if srs? Reaves was QB coach for USC, Tennessee, and New Mexico? Also a top notch recruiter. We are short on talent at QB, but Reaves can't throw the ball for them...

Defense

Tom Allen (DC) - Sounds like a good hire.

Eric Mathies (DL) - Hopefully can learn from Allen What was wrong with the D Line? Wasn't Mathies choice to only have 3 DL's out there. Our DL's are young and talented

Raymond Woodie (LB) - â€‹Wish him luck in whatever decisions he makes... Best recruiter on staff, hope we keep him

CWT said when he came hear that he was going to run his offense and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Cmon dude really? You're going to start tossing grenades everywhere?

There are various reports about this on other sites... could be everyone else is doing the math.  (Even Joey Knight suggested it: "In any scenario, Taggart, the Bulls' primary play-caller in 2013 and most of the '14 season, likely will remain his own coordinator.")

Although I agree that Allen would probably coach the LBs...

I hope the report that CWT is gonna be the OC is wrong. Guy is horrible at play calling. What good is bringing in a new DC to improve the defense when the offense will still be ranked in the 100's and suck donkey d? I hate this moron even more now. I hope he fails so miserably that he never gets another coaching job.

I hope he kills it.

So in turn, deters hopes USF fails miserably next year...just to spite CWT?

not very rational there brah

like Delda says, I want the best for USF. I hope they come out and have a 10 win season next year because it's my alma mater and I want them to succeed.

If we don't have a good year again then we will cross that bridge if we come to it

The reasoning is USF hires a much better replacement.

There is no solid reasoning for hoping the coach of your alma mater (assuming deters is a grad) fails miserably, at ANY POINT of his employment.

If he gets fired, I don't have a problem with someone hating him.  That's their grudge, their issue.

Most rational Bulls alumni/fans want CWT to succeed at USF.

Well, lol, I wasn't agreeing with that part. Although there are plenty of USF fans who have proclaimed hatred for the two former coaches. I don't wish anyone doesn't get a job again. I am glad Holtz found work and think Leavitt and the NFL are a perfect fit. I don't even wish Cosh would never be able to find work again, but I hope he's figured out how to run a defense in his time off.

There have been successful high school coaches who transitioned to college and it worked out fine. But I doubt he ran the kind of offense CWT wants to run.
