  1. Memphis was really disappointing. I thought UCONN looked awful when we played them, but they have played much better since then. Hopefully they can take out Temple this weekend.
  2. The start of the season was ugly. However, the bottom line is (as you said) we have a meaningful game in mid-November.
  3. Agree. What great game day atmosphere. Outside of the loss, it was a really enjoyable trip.
  4. USF 27-21 Mack Adams 401 I think this is really tough game to call. Either Bulls win a close one or get beat badly. I'm going with the close win.
  5. It was a tough night for Auggie and I wish he were a little quicker. We are short at the LB position and I think he is the best we have.
  6. I'm not a Skip Holtz fan, but the fact is he won before he came to USF and he's winning after leaving USF.
  7. His skill set is so bad for the QB position that the offense can only run a very limited set of plays. Keep in mind we have be struggling against some very bad defenses. Bowling Green passed for 491 yards against Maryland and we managed 60. Memphis came into the game with the #103 ranked defense.
  8. No way we air it out with QF at QB. He simply can't make the throws required at this level. I expect lots and lots of running plays tonight.
  9. I think we can put up a good 60 or so yards passing against Memphis.
  10. cwt is a terrible judge of talent and i dont trust him he cleARLY PLAYS FAVORITES He's no different than any other D1 coach that sees flashes of greatness in a young/raw player. Tons of good coaches are guilty of leaving a guy in a game to help him develop under game pressure. I don't see the flashes of greatness. I see some decent athletic ability at times. The primary thing hurting us right now is that there are a lot of throws he simply can't make. That makes it very easy do play defense against our limited passing game.
  11. Some good ideas on this thread. I had forgotten about Cristobol - he would be a great choice. With Butch Davis, I get the "retread" concern, but he would be worth a look. I can't imagine that Lane Kiffin would want to be bothered coach here, although his brother is David Reaves. What about current coaches on staff - Hope or Allen?
  12. He's actually improving. His ESPN QBR ranked #94 out of all 121 QB's. Last week he ranked #112. So, now we have a Top 100 QB.
  13. Our think our O-line, TE and RB's are our strength's. We will have to run the ball well to win the game and I think we will do just that. If Maryland is able to stop our running game and put us in a lot of passing situations then we are in big trouble.
  14. Bulls 24 - 13 Mack Johnson 318 This is a big game. If we can get the road win this week we have a great chance to get to 7 wins. Hard game to pick. My initial thought was Bowling Green lit up Maryland and so will we. However, Bowling Green runs an entirely different offense and I don't think we pass anywhere near the 491 yards that BG did. I think our defense sets up the win for us this week. We either get a defensive score or at the very least the defense sets up a couple of short field situations for our offense.
  15. his rating was 112.9 against FSU. last year Bench's rating was 106.2. he had a lower rating against Maryland, Houston and UCF than Flowers did vs FSU. I was referring to the ESPN website where is QBR ranked #113 out of the 125 FBS QB's. 113 was the ranking, not the rating.
  16. We don't have a deep threat passing game with QF at QB. Only 1 completion to a WR on Saturday. Our passing game is to check down to a running back or have QF take off running. His week 2 QB rating ranked 113 out of 125 FBS QB's.
  17. I'm personally glad we got Mike "White Out". I can't remember a less athletic person ever playing the QB position.
