Well, Wisconsin is bigger and they do just that to other teams on both sides of the ball. The game plan that CWT and Co. come up with on Saturday will reveal if we will see any sort of adaptability to our players out of this staff. We have speed and athleticism on our side. Let's see how that's going to be used on Saturday. If it's there's no adaptability to our players' talents and abilities, we'll see NC State part II.

I say that because of his comments yesterday about Wisconsin on the weekly teleconference. Something along the lines of "I hope the football gods are with us Saturday". If you havent already, give this article a read. It looks like he's executing the same tactic. And right now, we are at stage one: Lesson 1: Compliments In Wartime: Basic Tactics And Strategy To stage an upset of the decade, you must first control the narrative, by aiding and encouraging any perception that you're far too underqualified to compete. "I told our guys yesterday," he says after the press conference, "You're gonna hear me saying a lot of great things about them tomorrow. Don't listen to it. It's part of all this." http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/2012/9/10/3306337/alabama-western-kentucky-football-willie-taggart-nick-saban Edited September 23, 2014 by Hem

The psychology of coaching is fascinating, as well as the manipulation of the media "staying on message". And then, then there's Vegas. Upsets do happen, but as pointed out here, the key is to gameplan against the upset.

I remember when a crappy, un-ranked Rutgers team knocked of the number 2 team in the nation. Sure, some things had to go their way...they had the number 2 team coming to play at Rutgers on a very short week and they had a huge momentum changing bad call go their way, but it happened. So anything can happen.
