That's a lot of hot air to say "if you want to compete at the highest levels of football, go to the **** game".

I'm not sure that gets us to the highest levels of football.

One thing he has right is that this administration is reaching out.

Other than that, it's a lot of Collin telling us about Collin.

I think the ones that care do show up. But there are several that were driven away 4.5 years when those in power (really in power), Woolard and Genshaft, botched the Leavitt situation (purposely or in their own incompetence) and forever altered the course of the program. And both are still there, Woolard unbelievably.

Now it's up to someone else to build it. Hopefully Collin's pleas, as well as those from many other sources, helps them do that. The program itself had the greatest opportunity yet this season and that was to beat a pretty lousy Maryland team. Didn't do it.

Taggart seems like a great guy, but he may not a program builder on the level of Leavitt. Paul Griffin found the guy. Harlan may end up having to as well.

He also said that this is what helps teams win...fan support, it is a big part of the game. I get it and agree with him. Solidarity in numbers!

Fan support does help, it doesn't get you to the highest level.

I think the majority of the diehards still attend. It's as some here often opine "Win, and they will come".

It's hard to call for bandwagoners to support when we don't give them a reason.

But I'd think we'd all agree it helps if fans attend.

Fan support helps for several reasons; 1.  It helps motivate the team on game day.  2.  It gets more games on better broadcasts.  3.  It goes into bowl selection consideration, and 4.  It, along with reasons 2 and 3 help with recruiting.  Players want to play in front of crowds, on national TV and go to good bowls.

Additionally, fan support means more money to the sports department.

I have been to every Home game, except 2, since the program started.

I used to take my children. Now I take my Grandchildren.

I will be in there "Sewating" in the south End Zone..........

For the smart-asses if we are 3-2 do we have a good showing for homecoming?

ECU travels well. We'll be outnumbered regardless.

So yes, we will have a "good showing" but the majority will be in purple

You think ECU is bringing 20,000 people on the road?

I would like to apologize for personally offending the author for my lack of attendance this past weekend while I worked on homework and thesis.

I have much more important and exciting things to do then sit for 3 hours and watch people play a game.

This isn't important and neither is our football team. Who ******* cares? The only thing worth doing is tailgating beforehand.

I'd like to preference this by first saying that I have had season tickets since 2007 ( Section 124 ) and have gone to every game since with the exception of the year I lived in Korea. I enjoy the tailgating and try to bring someone new with me to the games that have never been. I took my friend from Cocoa Beach to her first USF game last Saturday and she loved it!   I'm in my late 30's, from Pasco County, and have LOVED college football since Lex Smith was on the Gators in the late 80's. I'm in no way trying to tell people how to spend their money.  It is your money, you made it, spend it how you like.  For me, I love our school and win or lose, I want to support our football them.  This is just my opinion, "I could be wrong"!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
