Why would we do any of that?  For starters outside of this past game the student section has actually been fairly full -- more full than say the opponents 50 yard line seats.  Secondly those are some of the worst seats in the stadium and we hardly have lines out the door for folks to buy those tickets.  But probably most importantly, more so than any other sections those students pay for those seats.  The ability to leverage athletic fees on students is what allows us to continue to pay 3 head coaches and 2 defensive coordinators.  We probably should move the students to mid field.

Bring the Paying customers(those who show up to support the team in person no matter if we win or lose) down from the Upper deck( season ticket holders) and let them fill in the section where the Band is currently.(Reward them for their support).  Put the band in the Endzone and it will make it more full. A lot of colleges have their band in the endzone as well.

Also create a supply and demand for student tickets.     We don't need 12,501 student seats for Football.  Really bites to see Tons of Miami fans or FSU fans sitting in the Student section or  a completely empty student section. Which one is worse?

12,501 is WAY TO Big.  Was a mistake to expand it to that size when they did it a few years back. Its was to lay claim to having the Largest Student section in the conference, Sadly it sits unfilled.  The Upper deck, student sections only have a spattering of fans when we are Winning , ranked , playing FSU ,WVU type teams. Rest of the time its DEAD with no one in it.  These are the facts.

If we beat UCONN the attendance for Louisville will pick up just because it is a good game to see where we are at.

Hope so,   Should be regardless of the outcome at UConn.    Ville will be a top 10 team, with a Heisman candidate at QB, they bring a good amount of fans and its the last time we play them EVER unless we join the ACC or schedule them OOC. Its also Homecoming.

No excuses for lack of attendance at the Ville Game, NONE.

I could see that... if the season ticket holders in upper deck are < band section then absolutely - reticket them, save the cost of keeping the upper deck open.  This is the kind of thinking we need in USF Athletic Department.  Any chance you'd be interested in a position as an athletic director?

would SAVE MONEY,  make the stadium look more full. Give the stadium more of a buzz as well.  When the crowd is so spread out it makes it less lively. We need to build a home field advantage, Difficult place to play.

When the band was in the middle of the student section-- it was harder for them to get on and off the field.

let's just leave it as it is and not make any changes that were set up for a full house of students and alumni/fans.

going back and forth on our setup is a waste of time-- focus on winning and the seats will fill up again.

No chance.  The attendance part that is, not the beating UCONN part.

Win and people will show up. Can you really blame the students who've had to suffer through 5-7, 3-9 and then 0-4?

Plenty of students showed up for the first game, and they will show up again when we win.
