Winning makes this discussion disappear so we can get back to talking about 1) Why Doug needs to be fired 2) Why Skip Holtz hates old people, children, and dogs 3) How much we need an OCS and 4) How CJL got a raw deal.

You forgot, "5) Why Aaron Lynch will be voted president of the galaxy." :D

Disgusting showing by my fellow students. Trip is right, we only get 6 or 7 times a year to do this and you don't even bother to show up and support the school and team? Pathetic. Even if we were 0-11, there is no place I'd rather be at than sitting there cheering on my school. Bunch of bandwagon fair weather wankers.

Listen... not everyone is a "die-hard" USF football fan. They still support USF and the sport programs but if the team is 0-4 and getting completely embarrassed on the field. It's okay if they decide their time is better spent with family or whatever they decide. I agree with you, that fans should try and make it out to as many games as possible but it is by no means pathetic for people to spend their time doing something else. Students don't have as much of an excuse as non students because the tickets are free, but people can't expect families to go out and pay serious money to watch this team right now. By serious money I don't mean thousands obviously, but a family of 4 with parking at $15 plus $10+ a ticket, plus whatever food/drink in the stadium you're already well north of $100. Either way, no reason to be mad at fans for not coming after what happened the first 2 games.

It is up to Taggart and the administration to communicate to the students. It is up to them to win and give students a reason to come.

Communicate to the students ...Bull .... **** ... It's college football. You've only got 6 or 7 days a year to come out and support your school and not coming tonight, the conference opener, was a joke. I could kind of understand if Holtz was still here but you've got a new regime, trying to get this thing turned around and you've got assclowns turning their back on the team already .... pathetic. Props to the ones that were there, though.

Yes fans, you MUST spend one of your two hard earned days off per week (if you're lucky), along with your hard earned cash, watching a revolting team play for a pointless conference's title, with no chance of winning said pointless conference's title (much less a BCS title), lest you run the risk of being called the usual arsenal of insults by Super Fan Triple B.

If you can't understand the reasons why people are not going to come out for this garbage then I'll assume you have Asperger's.

Very well said.

I get that. I was just pointing out both sides of it... Students don't have as big of a financial excuse as non students/families, but with that said how can you honestly not understand if a student decides their time is better spent studying, with family, or doing whatever the heck they want instead of going to see the football game especially under these circumstances? Not every student is going to be a die hard usf bulls football fan by default of going to school at USF. I don't think I would be near the fan of USF football if I was a student during the last 2+  years. I became one because I experienced games like West Virginia at home, @ FSU, Kansas at home, etc.

The lower student section was full, or **** near full, for the MSU game. Showed me that at least those there got it and understood that this was truly a new era ......... I thought. Apparently their attention span was a lot shorter than I gave them credit for, at least for most of them. After, admittedly, a rough start, they don't show up for the start of the "second season", in a new conference?? Like I said earlier, if it had even been half full probably not a whole lot would have been said, but 300 freaking student tickets distributed?? .... Stop making excuses for them. Hopefully they've recognized the error of their ways and show back up, no matter what, for the next home game.

They decided they had better things to do with their time as well as many other bulls fans. It should've been a lot more than that you're right, but at the same time the incoming freshman class are not going to be big time college football fans of USF right now due to the programs situation so you can almost count them out. The upperclassmen that are so frustrated with the state of the program are probably deciding to not go. It's unfortunate, but I don't see how anyone could blame any fan, student or not for deciding against going to a football game under these circumstances.

Once we become competitive again they'll come back. The Bulls suffer from a similar issue as the Rays. They are both extremely young teams and it takes time to grow a sustained fan base especially in a state like Florida where you have FSU/Florida/Miami. It would be interesting to see what an OCS would do for student attendance. I wonder if the inability to travel to Ray Jay is an issue for a lot of people whereas with an OCS you could walk or take USF transportation to the game.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
