Maybe "leader" was not the best choice of words but I think it's a fair statement that BJ's issues when he was a Bull were mental, not physical.

I always thought he couldn't read a blitz and throw the hot route. Biggest issue. But only months out of here and he was doing it well in the NFL, preseason or not its higher competition. So I'm thinking coaching had a whole lot to so with it.

Yeah, committee was a bad choice, not really what I meant. I just think based on info out of camp that CWT will likely have to juggle QBs until he finds the right chemistry and the best leader. Right now, it sounds like it's not there. Agree, though, that when he makes the decision, he'll likely try to stick with one as the starter. It may take a game or three to find it, though.

 

To BJ's credit, he fixed some of the leadership issues his senior year, and I love how he looks in San Fran with his head up. But while at USF, he spent too much time wagging his head at teammates and hanging his head after making mistakes. Good leaders have a short memory, get back up and get the team going, which is what he did more of last year before injury.

Bench, if healthy by then.  I think we need to name a starting qb soon for moral and confidence alone.  This can always be changed based on performance, but naming a starter sooner rather than later is key, in my humble opinion.

Who are we thinking gets the starting nod against Mcneese? I think especially with the injury to Bench, the competition is close to over. I think Floyd runs out on the field first.
