Not sure how the coach who was offensive minded and didn't do that much with the defense was the reason the defense failed in key moments. As good as USF's offense was while he was here, at aTm they had over 7000yds

Just shows what a failure we had in Skip Holtz and crew's ability to coach our players.

Based on one article? Let's see how this plays out first.

Based on the last two years of pathetic results while still sending guys to the NFL.

I would think week in and week out blowouts are pathetic. There were just as many last quarter, last minute, last play failures on the defense as there were true blow outs because the offense was clicking. IF USF had brought in a better DC, Skip would still be coach.

Snyder did quite well at when he left here- I think Skip was the problem and he's gone.

Go Bulls!

He must have missed the bus when La Tech put 57 points on his defense in 3 quarters.

Well, TAMU put more when tr clock struck zero. This was a very high scoring shoot out, and not representative of the season. Both teams, LA tech and TAMU run very up tempo, and so they each score very fast and then hand the ball back over.

LA Tech was the only team to score more than 30 against Texas A&M last year. Only 4 teams scored more than 25, and they kept about half of their opponents to 20 or less points.

Considering Texas A&M's offense the ball changes possession a lot, so opponents have more opportunities to score than against a team such as Alabama.

If Texas A&M stays healthy and fix field goal kicking issues they have a very good shot at playing for the national championship. I predict they will finish the season rank 5 or better.

I think LSU, Gators and BAMA make a better sample for their defense.

Snyder is facing better opponents now, but also has more talented players, and much much much more talented coaches around him. Texas A&M fans are happy with his performance here.

Cool video from BJ, was back at USF this last much and made some note of it. Said he worked with Taggart and special team guys like Braukhaus-Kahn and Bonani.

BJ is awesome! He's always been a real cool and humble guy. I remember running in to him at Channelside before last years season. I told him "If we don't beat FSU this year I'm gonna be mad." He replied, "Trust me, I think I'll be a little more mad." Even though we lost, BJ played his heart out. Wish him the best!

This is more than a month old, sorry if it's a repost but didn't see it in here. Good read on BJ "so far", but sounds like their jury is still out until we get to preseason. Like the reference to Kordell (Slash), but he's got a lot of proving to live up to that reference.

and because I am a lifelong 49ers fan and I am excited that he is on my team....only Vernon Davis can make Anquan Boldin look small

Good read; appears to be a dead het for making the roster vs practice squad

B.J. Daniels welcomes playing many roles

by Paul Gackle

B.J. Daniels is holding several job titles -- quarterback, running back, wide receiver and return specialist -- in his first NFL training camp this summer. But the 49ers' rookie said he just wants to perform one role for the team: contributor.

Daniels, who coach Jim Harbaugh refers to as his "Swiss army knife," might be the most intriguing non-starter on the field for the 49ers as they kickoff the preseason against the Denver Broncos on Thursday. He can return kicks, line up at wide receiver, explode out of the backfield and take snaps at quarterback.

He could do little bit of everything at some point this season, but the 23-year-old says his goal is to help the team.

"The biggest role that I want to take on is contributor," Daniels said. "I really want to contribute any way that I can."

...

Right now, Daniels is practicing at three positions, but as camp progresses, he's making his case to be the No. 3 quarterback. Some experts believe he'll be the backup by 2014.

"He's doing a pretty darn good job," Harbaugh said. "I think just what we have been doing is more and more quarterback play as the days go by and he's showing a good grasp of the offense. Arrow up there."

Daniels said he bonded with Kaepernick immediately over their shared fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi, and he plans to absorb what he can from the versatile signal-caller, who was in his position just two summers ago.

"We talk all the time," he said. "It's been pretty cool to be able to connect [over our fraternity] and have conversations and talk about that."

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
