To be honest he wasn’t proven . I think  what he is doing at USF in one year is very impressive.Based on that and not what he did at the previous stop P5 schools will come calling at the end of the season, specially if we win the American tournament and win a couple NCAA games. We will have to come up with some money to keep him.

What he did at his previous stop was pretty exceptional as well. He showed progress every season. P5s wouldn't be calling if this was year 1 of his head coaching career. They would have taken a wait and see approach. He has now improved two programs, one low major and one mid major. The next logical step is for him to turnaround a major program. Keep in mind he was taking just as big of a risk as the University by agreeing to be the HC here, if not bigger.

Or very mature observations, that have since been addressed, i.e. Tobiloba as a starter...or the defense that has improved.  you can have both evaluations and growth.  Especially if the coach is coming up with same evaluations.

Is this a joke?   I know digging up old threads is fun, but this was a really silly one to revive.

Also, there is no such thing as P5 or G5 in men's basketball.   That only applies to NCAA football.

I’m talking about the premature evaluations on the CAAR hire itself, which was stupid to do after 6 games.

Because evaluating a hire should be done before the hire?
