WE didn't let bad teams drop 50 on USF for multiple games. That is improvement, but we still have the face the offensive juggernaut Temple.

Here is a new comparison after 4 games. We have officially surpassed our "QB hurries" from last year. We are 1 sack away from matching our total sacks from last year. We are officially over the halfway point to our TFL total from 2022. We have 8 games to surpass and hopefully improve upon some of these stats.

Shoutouts on the D-line:

  1. Jonathan Ross - I've been preaching that we gotta give this man more snaps. I like Tramel Logan but he missed like 2-3 sacks in the last game. Ross seems to be more productive. at this point it's time to remove the "or" on the depth chart.
  2. Jason Vaughn is playing as expected. I expect.
  3. Lloyd Summeral - Buddy got his first sack over the weekend.

Our tackling is so much better than last year. It's not even close.

Especially tackling in space. There were some 1 on 1 tackles this year, that left me pleasantly surprise

I seriously wonder how you can get this type of turnaround this quickly.  I am assuming a combination of coaching being that bad before and being this good now.  You don't see guys confused anymore.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
