The main positive of this year is the turnaround on defense. We are already on pace to surpass a few totals from last year. With 9 games left, there is no reason we can't get 25-30+ sacks, 85+ TFLs, and 10 INTs this year.

How many QB hits came against Bama? Feels like we had somebody blowing up their QBs on every other play.

Our Dline fared better against Alabama than than it did against FAMU.  Go figure

I don't get it, because of Bama's vaunted 350lb average on the O line, but our guys were running right by them.

Goes to show you that FAMU is not bad this year. I hope they are invited to the playoffs.

This is wild.  Also our games included Nick Saban.

Most of the stats are against them.

If this doesn't add excitement for the upcoming games, I don't know what to say to Bulls Nation.  But I'm biased toward defense...

I'm totally with you on your optimism, but there are plenty of reasons why we might not finish with the numbers you're projecting.  Simply look at where our defense was after three games last season (1 SEC opponent as well), and you'll see that assuming similar stats for the remaining games can come out nowhere near the math.

In 2022 we had after 3 games:

TFL:  22.  According to your math, we should have finished the year with almost 90.  We finished with 62.

Sacks:  5.  This would equate to around 20.  We finished with 14.

INTs:  4 (yes - we had 1 more at this point).  This would equate to around 16.  We finished with 6.

We can look back and find plenty of reasons why the production didn't match the stats after the first three games - injuries, morale, etc.

We have 9 games left, 10 if we make a bowl game. We had a drop-off toward the 2nd half of last year due to the depth and limitations of the players we had. This year we are playing way more players on defense due to our depth. I'm not comparing last year's "after 3 games" b/c this is a different team and set of opponents. I'm comparing it to last year's total and that we have plenty of games left to not only surpass last year's total but reach even higher goals. I am not comparing it game by game.
