Schedule is a very weak one. We don't even play SMU, East Carolina, or Tulane this year. We have Rice, Temple, FAU, and Charlotte at home. Ideal for coach Golesh to get at least 4 to 5 wins this year. Don't like how in this new conference we don't play Tulane for 2 years.

Everyone on our schedule had a better record than us last year right? I wouldn't say it's weak considering our current state. Maybe better suited to get us outta the depths of shitville.

Isn't our future starting QB a redshirt freshman? ImI get it's different on the lines but don't count these guys out man.

Oh I am definitely not counting these guys out, or anyone else that's already on the team. With better coaching I think we will see many surprises where players that have been with the team for quite some time step up and are productive .

My point was more that these players that we already have and redshirted are big question marks, and we need to get more defensive players through the transfer portal, and preferably players  like the Indiana transfer.

Defense is my main concern, this is where I think we either make a big step up or we basically are floundering like past years.

If we are going to a 3-4 system, right now, I would probably look at this starting line up, up front.

DE: Kelly 6’4 274, Terrell 6’3 254

NT: Bags 6’3 293 or Williams 6’2 293, Hobbs 6’2 291

DT: Cheney 6’2 285

OLB: Summerall 6’5 231

MLB: Gordon 6’1 220

MLB: Shuler 6’1 220

OLB: DJ Harris 6’2 234

Could also move a 240 to 260lb DE to middle linebacker position.

If we could add just a 300+ DT and another 270+ DE we might have something to work with.

For a G5 conference team we could be ok.

Agree we have quite a few DE/ Wing type guys in the240-250 range that would need to get up 10-15 pounds to play end in a 3-4 and yes we would be in better situation with one or two more DT big guy transfers.

It netted 1 FBS win in the last 3 years and was subsequently  thrown in the failed coaching cliche trash can along with “Bull Strong” and “Holtz New Era”

The results sucked just like the culture shift to a losing one.  If we want to win we got to purge everything jeff scott related from thr program and focus on winning being priority number one. No more moral victories, no more praising the culture  shift with toxic  positivity, and  the coaches and ayers will have to outwork other teams to win.

Wonder if all the Jeff Scott related cliches, signs, and quotes have been taken down around the football facilities.

Why do we need cliches anyway.  Just work hard and get the job done.
