We need someone who can take a couple loaves and fishes and feed a whole stadium.

Follow @luc_brian updated June 2022 Brian Jean-Mary, a 22-year coaching...

"As defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at USF, Jean-Mary's units were consistently among the nation's best in turnovers created, tackles for loss and pass defense. In his first year, USF was top 25 nationally in six categories, including sacks per game (3.0, 11th) and interceptions (20, second). The Bulls led The American Conference in total defense (359.8) and scoring defense (21.5 points per game), improving from 120th in total defense and 92nd in scoring defense to 37th and 41st, respectively, after Jean-Mary's arrival

Will be the second most important hire.  Again, we're coming off a few failures in this role.  Is there a pre-test that can be administered?

I dont follow basketball. I like sports with physical contact and lots of hard hits such as Hockey and Football.

Which is why I like watching good defensive teams. Hate watching bad defense. It is painful and reminds me flag football or something. Tulane defensive looked good against UCiF. If Tulane can build a tough defense then USF better be able to

It will be someone with no experience based upon our hiring trend

I actually think this is the most important hire. We’ve been pretty good finding guys who can coach offense. Defense has been a hot mess for years.

I'm with you on that, he was really good here. Time to get aggressive and nasty on defense again.  Tired of hearing about it and being the opposite for the last 3 years.

I’ll be happy to see the DBs not be 10 yds off the receivers on third and 5

That and getting burnt every single play by passing or running by the dbs who can't tackle.
