I did articulate earlier in the thread - ability of the team to focus due to family situations, Scott’s performance in road games, loss of the home crowd as a motivating factor, potential travel complications (though they are leaving today)

I would not call it dumb per week, but certainly risky

The game was scheduled for 7 PM - I would have either held that time or looked to play on Sunday

It was either that or play at ECU.  This is the better option.

Well…the good news is we’ll be able to watch Bulls football this Saturday and the bad news is we’ll be able to watch Bulls football this Saturday.

Assuming you have both power and internet... 🤷‍♂️

An alum friend of mine who lives in Boca just texted me about the South Florida alumni chapters already planning a tailgate and getting people out to the game in force.  We'll see.

I'll take a shot.  Game is on Saturday.  Storm is Wed/Thur.

I think there was maybe a fear that there could be damage and problems lingering in the area that would make hosting a game a problem.

What would you have proposed?

Things I have seen mostly have to do with the players having to be away from families where they could be assisting in some way, the lack of fans at the game and the losing of a home game. Personally I respect the decision of trying to go earn what would be one of your most likely opportunities at a win when the easy thing to do is to say well if we were able to play we would have won that one. I have very little respect for these people, their abilities and their decisions but I actually appreciate this one.

I will bet dollars to doughnuts that Ray Jay will be unscathed on Saturday.

True, playing in Boca Raton is definitely preferable to playing in Greenville

Probably... but the parking lots? The houses around RayJay? Will the roads be cleared by Saturday?

Plus... by leaving today to go to Ft Lauderdale, the team can practice down there on Wed and Thu... meanwhile USF could not practice until Friday.

Oh... and will the airport be open for ECU to fly in on Friday?

It's entirely possible they could have played in Tampa... but there is too much uncertainty to bet on that this far out.

Yeah but as of 24 hours ago it was looking like it would hit in the worst possible spot (just north).  I am guessing that's when a decision had to be made to get all the travel arrangements set, etc.

This and the City of Tampa has to plan for the worst.  People act like we can wait for the storm to pass to make a decision

This is very true. As USF fans we have all learned to take the good with the bad. 🤘
