Under Scott, What is USF Football's identity on offense and defense?

Under Scott, USF has not and does not have an identity.  Under Leavitt it was a defensive oriented team that offensively wanted to run the ball. Under Taggart it was an offensive oriented team that would out score the opponent, with the exception when Tom Allen was defensive coordinator.   Even Holtz and Strong teams had identities, offensive and defensive respectively.  One can also see the quantitative results by the number of players drafted and game metrics during each coaches tenure.  Leavitt had many defensive players draft, Taggart more offensive players.

But under Scott I don't see a strong offensive identity nor a defensive identity. On offense does USF want to run the ball by getting the fast guy in space like Taggart? On defense does USF want to take away the run and rely on 1:1 coverage? Over the last few years I can not tell what identity Scott is going for other than good culture and good recruits.  Those two things a great assets but they will not win games alone.

I would argue that no coach in USF history has been more consistent and established a more clear identity than CJS, that people don’t like it and refuse to see what he shows them every week doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Not quite the “run-n-shoot” but the “chuck-n-duck.”

USF's identity? Soft confusion.

Offensively:

2 yard dive on first and second down then pass to the flat on third down that fails to get a first down.

This should be a joke but that is how they started against BYU.

This should be a joke except this has been true for multiple OC’s over several years.  This was popular with Willie before he realized this could get him fired. My wife who knows nothing about football calls out this series while it is happening.
