I think we definitely have the talent to go bowling, wonder if its in these guys heads. Our players we're all better recruits than the guys on a team like Tulsa or Tulane, so how do they beat us unless our players go into that game looking at our record and thinking we suck and might not win?

Thats where the leadership of someone like Gerry will be huge. We go into a game vs Tulsa and I bet he has the attitude that there's not a chance in hell we lose and we need to go out there and erase any doubt of who the better team is. The team will have a lot more confidence following a guy whose won huge and won a lot before

Bad coaching and player development over the last 4 years is how they beat us. We need better schemes that fit our players to put us In positions to win. We need improved play calling on offense and defense. We lack player development and need it drastically.  When is was our last star player ? We need leaders that don't accept losing  on and off the field. We need to get bigger and stronger.

The only authenticated NEED we have is to score one more point than the other team in every game we play some way, somehow ... all this other droning on stuff is just white noise.

The new DC and oc are unproven hires. Hopefully they. Hopefully they succeed.  This culture change is nonexistent because we accepted 1 fbs in two  seasons. It was rewarded with an extension.  Cjs is the worse coach in usf history until he proves other wise.

National defensive coordinator of the year in 2014 (@ Penn State) and in 2018 (@ Mississippi State). Since 2008 his defenses have produced 20 draft picks at 5 different programs. 6 of his last 9 defenses we're top 25 in the country and his 2018 defense was #1 in the country. His 2014 defense was #2 in the country.
 

He's proven at multiple stops now that he can produce an aggressive and successful defense.
