Explain, please. Because the rest of the gang would have to change bylaws and take it away. That is unlikely to happen because a bad precedent would be set. The PAC 12 is not far in front of, or maybe not at all, the Big 12. Think about it like the complications involved with kicking a single team out of a conference. P5 is a thing created by, well, the P5. Edited September 11, 2021 by ArmyBull

UCF, Cincy, and Houston are in the Big 12 because it's more money. Whatever teams the AAC selects for expansion will leave because it's more money. All this stuff is based on their programs making more money. It has nothing to do with teams being "elite" and it never did. Let's be real honest here: The Big 10 and the SEC are the two best conferences in college football, then the Big 12, ACC and Pac 12 follow behind, then the AAC and rest of the G5 conferences. Big 12 isn't going to lose it's status as a Power 5, because if they did, it's going to be such a slippery slope for inclusion it just wouldn't be worth it. It can’t be about the money AND a slippery slope. Money loves slippery slopes.

Maybe a whole new structure is created, but I tend to think that the "alliance" has no desire to consolidate the autonomy votes for the SEC to simply have more control. A weaker Big12 is still anti-SEC votes.

Man this has the potential to be deflating. At that point they would be superior to us like UCF.
