Some favorite old beach bars .....

Shepherds - Clearwater

Undertow - St Pete Beach - awesome volleyball and crowd

and this will sound cheesy but I used to frequent the original Hooters on 60 on the way to Clearwater beach back in 1984.

Remember the Tanga Lounge?  Nasty chicks with stab wounds on the main stage and $10 HJ’s in the back rooms.

The Tanga was the bomb until it also burned to the ground. Cheap entry and they didn't care if you had drinks in the parking lot (their drinks were garbage). Three stages and a generous lap dance area. It was a favorite for bachelor parties. Good times. Never did the $10 handy though. Guess I missed the sign or something. But of all the strip clubs on that strip of causeway-- Tanga was my favorite.

I can't recall where that was (or if I ever went there).

Dooley's-- I was trying to recall the name of that bar that was based in the Holiday Inn on Fowler.

Was a big fan of Proud Lion Pub out  in Carrolwood of Dale and Fletcher. They had a massive problem with the roof and relocated (Florida and Fletcher) and it was never quite the same.

O'Briens (original location was a favorite but after college, even the relocated version).

Maco's  (on Dale) was meh though the views were pretty good. I remember the Bears were playing in town once and were at the bar. Got to meet Dan Hampton-- HUGE dude.

Love ya bro.   Good times.  I hope all is well with you, my good friend!

The Greenery (spelling?) was a complete dive. Used to have a beer or two with Professor Levy from the political science department.

I think that was the place across from the Phi Delt house that I named incorrectly. I used to go there a lot because we had a bunch of fraternity brothers who lived in that UTA complex, and some worked at the bar itself.

Tick Tock Tuesday’s at The Greenery and Tia’s Power Hour we’re weekly staples. Copper Top was always a good time. I lived at Summit West for a couple years so that Applebees on 56th and Fowler was always good for 2 for 1s and then a stumble home.

Used to also spend a lot of time in Carrolwood at Big O’s, Wild Wings(not BWW), Primetime and O’Briens.

I lived in the apartments behind the Greenery.  Wings were cheap though. Subport had the best Subs and CiCis Sink or Swim was always popular.
