It all starts with the offensive and defensive line. If that is the strength of your team then everyone behind them is elevated. As poor as McCloud has been - yesterday's game against a defense almost as bad as our not withstanding - he can be productive behind a strong running game and pass protection.

Go rebuild both of the lines - that's where you start.

Yes our lines our FCS level for sure. When a FCS player joins the team and is your best defensive linemen that says it all about how bad the talent is on this team.

Amazing how Strong was a defensive coach and even sucked at that.

In my opinion you need to work up front on both sides of the ball.

First, OL needs to hit the weight room. Need to get stronger. Need to add depth big time. Also need to upgrade.

DL- need to add two pass rushers that can actually be disrupters.  Need the portal here to make an immediate impact.

Need a couple of impact LBs. I could be wrong here, but weren't we expecting a couple of transfer/grad students to be impact guys, but they opted out?

I actually feel OK in the secondary if everyone comes back healthy. Not having KJ and Davis hurt us yesterday.

We need 2 RBs that are 200lb to 220lbs.  Battle and Joiner can be nice change of pace, but you can't build an offense around  170lb guys. We also need backs to pick up the 235lb blitzes. Most importantly you need the guy that can power ahead to pick up the 2 to 3 yards when needed.

Need another QB from the portal.

Need a couple of more bigger, fast receivers.  Especially with Dukes moving on. If Scott wants to run the Clemson type offense you need big bodied guys.

I think Scott needs to study up on in game management.  The onside kick at that point yesterday was dumb. I also think the fake punt play call was dumb. Just line up and run the play. I

I think some of his decisions this year have caused us opportunities to be more competitive at the end of a few games.

I think better situational play calling could make a difference in a few games next year.

This year's disaster was a result of several things. Guys opting out because of Covid is not talked about, but hurt us, Covid issues were real considering we were lacking in depth and talent anyway.

I would like to see what Fortin has. Despite one good game, I am not sold on McCloud as a playmaker QB yet.

I think the coaching staff needs to study up and get smarter as well.

Lots of work to do all around.

So an entirely new team and year. Heard! 9 months till kickoff and a lot of work to do. I believe CJS and crew are up for the task.

100% ↑ CJS needs to start TODAY in the gym. Nearly every body on the team needs to be bigger and stronger.

IMO every position needs an upgrade, but O-line and D-line especially.

Team speed needs to improve dramatically.

Coaching decisions need a major improvement.

Then all we have to do is... Just wait til next year... AGAIN!

GO BULLS!

Hah my friend had the idea of getting Milton also.

Need a QB at all costs.  Perhaps 2.

We have McCloud, who looked like a different guy today.  We have Fortin, who looked great for one series.  We theoretically could have Noah Johnson back.  And then there is Marsh, and hopefully McClain.  Of we get a real spring practice and real fall camp with a full squad, our QBs will be fine.  Our receivers were on fire today, and we had two RBs run for over 100 yards.  We need depth and more talent on defense and we can win games next year

I am really excited about the qb coming in this class...he could end up being our starter next year...

I hope he comes back next year. Pretty much the only DT worth keeping.

I'd hold a press conference and say the program needs "a good washing".

I'd then play Alanis Morrissete's song "Isn't it Ironic" and explain we need the washing of the players the last guy who said the program needed a good washing left.

I'd build around Battie and Dollison.

I'd hit the recruiting trail with the pitch that "You're already better than some of our graduating and rising seniors, you can play day one here."

I'd hire back Hans for S&C and post the announcement to Aaron Lynch's twitter feed.

Soooo if McKenzie Milton transfers out....do we pick him up? lol Also Battie is fast! I cant wait for next year.

Yes. But he'd never come here. I see P5 for him if he makes the move.

P5?  For a guy two years removed from playing because of a devastating injury, and that will only have one year of eligibility?

Whatever you are smoking, be nice and share.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
