Well most scopes have scope creep and I didn’t find it abundantly clear that in your scope it was specific only to teams in the exact same conference. It seems like Conference affiliation is the greatest indicator of finances, followed by a traditionally rabid fanbase and then current success. I don’t know that there are many examples of spending your way to success and typically money is the answer of people lacking in actual plans.

How much of that is University support (recent discussion) and how much of that is coaching?

SMU had a pretty good year in 2019 under Sonny Dykes, but they are only a few seasons removed from back to back 1-11/2-10 seasons

That’s fair enough and I can support that as I think that’s why being in the AAC equates to financial failure as it gets in far closer to the rest of the G5 in money but wants to spend as if it is closer to the P5 it pretends to be near, however people that make poor decisions with x dollars are more likely to squander 5x dollars than they are to figure out a way to spend themselves to success. We need to have a road map, spend have success get more money have success and cannot pretend we are building an arch that will only have success of results when the final keystone of way more money falls into place because anytime I’ve seen a plan with that type of dependency the person making it is full of ****.

2 years ago we were in the running for the conference championship game .... a mediocre season, a bad season, and now we can't compete  in the AAC ...... oh brother ....
