It really isn't a fair question. Typically, I wouldn't be watching an FCS opponent on TV. I would be at the stadium, heavily buzzed, and excited for the start of the Jeff Scott era. There were a few exciting plays, but triple option team are naturally boring to play against. Also, the TV  crew was atrocious. So you have to put everything in perspective.

Well next week we are going to be playing at Notre Dame and even CSH was able to make that exciting, I better go from 6 to midnight.

I hope you are right I just remember having this same conversation for months last year about how that minor league coach was in over his head where everyone wanted to see improvement being right around the corner just because they wanted him to be successful. CJS is supposed to be an offensive coach and his offense should look markedly better, maybe next week.

Everything is relative. Our offense might perform better next week and have a worse result. This year is the building of a foundation. We are doing so against a difficult backdrop. I'm going to stay positive all season. 2020 has been a ****** year full of enough negativity, so let's buck that trend and look for the positives where we can find them.

I hope you are right, I just expected something from the QBs and WRs (literally we got nothing) and I felt most of the RB production was pure raw talent than anything coaching related.

What were expecting out of the QBs?  The OL had 3 missing starters.  How irresponsible would it have been of the coaching staff if they would have kept dropping the QB back and let him kept getting hit especially when the running game was working?

I saw enough from the QBs under the circumstances.

Disciplined and enthusiastic on both sides of the ball. The team looked like they were having fun and not scared out of their minds if they made a mistake.

We are still a work in progress but I felt the defense looked better than I expected they would be for first game in along time and vs an option team. Not giving up a TD and your missing starters on the defense...thats pretty impressive.

Offense I thought at times looked good and at other times was sputtering.

My only negative from the game was our kicking we gotta find a kicker....extra points should be automatic.

If we can get a 97 yard strip and run TD on the opening drive of the game it will be like being on a Viagra IV!

We have a better kicker. He was out tonight. Hopefully will be available in South Bend.

This part was encouraging for sure. Not sure what is going on at QB though yet...

I’m not completely sure but more than 18 yds more than Citadel would be a nice start, we barely had more passing yards than an FCS team that runs an offense geared towards not throwing the football. That’s not awesome when your new coach is supposed to be better based on his offensive acumen.

This list is not inconsequential when considering tonight's performance. Down 4 OL, 3 of them starters, you can't throw downfield too much. We decided not to throw downfield at all.

Please, for the love of everything holy, do not let their absence be Covid related.

Agreed but I am thinking these QBs aren't throwing long passes for a reason.
