Come on, John, you've been around long enough to know that there will never, ever be a decision like this that will meet with 100% approval on here. It's the nature of the beast ...

I know.

We could win the AAC, make the playoff, and win a National Championship and there wouldn't be 100% approval for it.

That's fine, but your points about the other 2 were erroneous.   I don't think the criticism of McCloud is unwarranted (within reason).   I'm not sure that he "beat" the other 2 out at this point as much as CJS deferred to the incumbent for the opener.  When it is being said going in that all 3 will see snaps it isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for anyone.

Thus, why I said “for the first game.” His experience is greater than the others and this was probably the difference. I still bet he will win the job.

You also bet that the NHL would have record playoff ratings this year, no got no cred bro, still going with Fortin but hoping Noah.

We'll said, McCloud getting the start against Citadel seems like nothing more than a formality.

McCloud starting is a terrible sign for USF. I'm not saying McCloud will be bad, but if he really is our guy, he needs to fill a game manager role that focuses on not making mistakes. I dont see how he could possibly make enough progression in one offseason to offset his bad play last year.

It's looking like a run first team this year.

Very sad to see some of the negativity in this thread.

Could it be as simple as the new offense that we will run is more suited for Jordan than what we were trying to run last season?

With all due respect,  I'm not sure why it is considered sad or negative for fans to be discussing the starting QB situation.  I'd say it would be sadder if no one cared at all.

And of course it could be that simple.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
