I get what you are saying, but pouting and sulking is on him.

Not being in the kid's head, pouting and sulking isn't a given ..... hell. he could've been just licking his wounds.

He was not ready and was thrown into a terrible situation. I think Fortin has the most tools and arm to succeed.  I see nothing wrong with CJS starting JM against citadel. Let all three QBS play the first  game and gauge who is the best man to actually earn the job.  We will know who is the true starter when we see the starter versus ND and conference play.  If CJS believes JM is the best QB then give him a shot.  I am willing to give him a shot, but I think Fortin and Johnson didn't transfer in to be a 2nd and 3rd string QB.

This the key point. No has seen anybody play at practice and yet many think they know who should start.

I think Asianti was in his own head too much. Lots of fanfare... given too freely.

CWT broke Asianti’s foot, or he would have been a great name in USF football history

Ronnie Banks had a stronger arm and didn't weigh 100 lbs. Now he couldn't run and wasn't accurate but those two were opposites.

I miss Ronnie’s happy feet.

I thought we were working with the IF scenario

If McCloud starts, I'm upset.

It is unexpected and initially soul draining, but there must be a reason that coach is seeing.  Maybe they have a better game plan in place for the roster.

I know Trip hates facts and chapelbulls head hurts so much when looking at numbers it makes him cry, but we're going to need to significant improvement from McCloud this year otherwise the only offense he should be leading is the scout team.

Of the 94 FBS quarterbacks who threw at least 224 passes last year (the number McCloud threw), here is how McCloud ranked:

  • #94 (last) in passing yards (1,429)
  • #89 in completion percentage (55.4%)
  • #89 in yards per attempt (5.8)
  • #87 in quarterback rating (119.5)
  • #85 in passing touchdowns
  • #77 in touchdown-to-interception ratio (1.5:1)

By all considerable metrics McCloud was in the bottom 10% of all FBS quarterbacks last year. While I do think coaching can improve a player, its unrealistic to think that any staff is going to turn his lack of physical ability into a serviceable (50%th percentile) quarterback at this level. And if we are going to compete we are going to need a better-than-average quarterback - that is NOT McCloud.

The only thing that "makes my head hurt" is reading your posts .... especially when you have to spend hours of research and number crunching to find out what everyone knew just from watching the games

But did we watch the games? If so, you poor souls.

If you didn't, you probably don't care where McCloud ranked among FBS qbs
