I’m willing to give McLeod the benefit of the doubt.  He seems to have established himself as a leader on the team.  He committed in the off season to get bigger and stronger and he’s no longer running the “play fast score faster” offense that was the proverbial square peg in the round hole.

Let’s hope he puts together quickly.  If not, I’m sure CJS will look to one of the transfers.

Football is almost here!

I give it one quarter with McLeod at the helm before someone makes a "Fire CJS" post.. LOL!!

Hope it works out for McLeod, I think we are better off with a consistent QB for 3 years or more than one and done grad transfers.  I don't see how we will recruit a stud QB if the starting job keeps coming from the transfer portal.

But I still doubt his durability.

Great question ..... You know the Athletic Department doesn't keep records of stuff like that.

Was thinking the same thing.

Don’t know how to feel about this quote.

Side note, rewatching the BYU game now and boy does McCloud stink. No idea how we won that game.

I'd imagine the first player a new offensive minded coach would want to meet is the starting QB. He's probably seen the majority of it with his own eyes, unless you think McCloud put on all his muscle in December and January and was already bulked up when he saw him....

Uhhh...one can simply look at the chart showing weight and arm strength...it ain’t rocket science.

Sure a few ways to do this. Avg pass yards last year compared to last year. With enough data you can perform a chi square formula to determine a statistically significant difference. Second, velocity can be measured with ball speed. The great QBs hit it around 60 mph. Arm strength itself can be improved with increasing the perfection of the throwing motion. There are a whole host of drills where this is done in a measurable manner before and after these exercises.

You said simply look at the chart. Show me the chart.

How the hell do I have the chart? But to suggest that the coaching staff does not measure and chart arm strength throughout the season is erroneous.
