He was a freshman had an injured arm and he had Bell as his OC.

I'll cut the kid a break...see how he looks this season.

All 3 likely to play so we will see if one looks best.

He was hurt early and often. Maybe a different cat altogether.

Listen I will eat my own words if I am wrong but Mccloud was indecisive and did not see the field well. A moderate runner so even when he did escape he didn’t get far and arm strength was questionable. I don’t get it.

He struggled to be able to just protect himself on the field. I question if he even has the build to play the sport. If you can't take a hit, you may want to pick up another sport.

Now that could be a legit issue is if he can take a whole season of abuse behind our o line.

Perhaps that is why he put on almost 15 lbs? 🤷‍♂️

If its 15 pounds in arm strength and/or height then fine.

Well, I am willing to give him a shot before dumping on him “before” the first game under new leadership. I seem to remember Grothe did not have great arm strength and did pretty well. The issue is accuracy and this is something correctable with the right coaching.

Give the man a shot, he showed some off field leadership during the summer, it could transfer to on the field. CJS will put the best man on the field for Cincinnati.

I hate not having a starter. That is a bad look.

Invoking the name of Grothe is a wild swing. Grothe's value was in his intangibles and escapability as anything else.

It is also a wild swing downgrading a returning QB who had crap coaching and was injured. While, at the same time, supporting two QBs who were were not good enough to make it with their original university and retreated to USF.

Lots of people forget how lost Flowers looked against SMU. It's crazy to me to think that players are who they are the first time they touch the field and will never get any better. Is McCloud the answer? Who knows but to outright right off an player so young and raw is foolish imo.
