Just reminding you that KB getting hired from Valdosta happens. I was unaware it got old when people rehashed old stuff in new threads. I'll have to make a note of that.

It’s only charming when I do it. Yes I am aware that it occasionally happens I am also aware that is not horribly common and is an atypical way to go about acquiring a coordinator or head coach all the way up at the P6 level.

We would occasionally throw to the tight end (which historically KB doesn’t do),  run and have something that resembles an offense but then KB would be like F that noise lets get back to that struggle to pass the 50 offense, it’s complicated so it must be good.

Yes...several games that did happen.

McClouds best plays late in season were when he ran wild from being chased and making a good completion. Maybe we try moving him out of pocket some...nah.

So glad that crap show is over.

Wasn't being a D2 coach the reason xOCKB failed here?

I don't think being a D2 coach was the reason he failed.  FBS coordinators come from a variety of backgrounds.  Every coaching hire comes with risk.

I haven't seen any red flags with any of the hires. Seems like a lot of young coaches with a few experienced guys sprinkled in.

I would rather see us fail due to inexperience and have a willingness to evolve or grow versus having old man hubris and just keep making excuses.

If I am an under 40 HC, I don't want a bunch of old timers on my staff undercutting my decisions or resenting my age and position.

I agree...young and hungry coaches are the way to go here I think.

Guys on a upward trajectory. Nothing wrong with older coaches...but ones that are actually really good which wasnt the team that Strong had really developed.

I disagree.  The recruits sure won’t mind the rings that he shows them.

all the bling scott wears is impressive to young men

that is part of the job

he still needs to teach, coach and game plan

The nice thing about a younger coaching staff is, if CJS does really well and leaves us, one of his assistants could step in.  That would give us some nice continuity.
