People seem to forget that one of the better things that Holtz did was recruit players who boosted the average GPA of the team.  Before Holtz we had a lot of doltz.

I don’t care about rocket scientists on the football team, I care about W/L. CJL could take a dull blade and make him into a serviceable football player

You don't care but obviously the university did.  Not sure it was Holtz' choice. The APR at La Tech isn't as high as it was here.
