ESPN was behind the ACC expansion which led to the break up of the Big East. The irony here is that they could do the same for the AAC by pointing them to which teams they would want to see added for a bigger contract, but on a smaller scale.

And you don't think they already are????

Contract for BYU was status quo. If you read BYU's contract. If they don't perform well, they'll make less money then their last contract.

MWC has yet to sign a contract.

I strongly believe an 8 team playoff with a G5 autobid is happening within the next half decade. If/when that happens, the AAC championship would be a strong pathway to the CFP (barring a weak AAC year/abnormally strong MWC or C-USA year). So I'm not hanging on a P5 invite. We do need to make our conference stronger, but there are better options than teams who previously jumped ship.

Expansion, yes.

G5 autobid? Hell no. No reason Alabama and Clemson should batter the G5 champ every year. It would get boring quick.

In case you've missed some on field results, the G5 auto bid is 4-2 in major bowl games vs top P5 teams. You might want to rethink your position because you're objectively wrong.

I don’t think the super conference is play. I think add a Colorado school, or something that can add value and makes travel sense

That's an interesting angle!

What would that record be if those games were part of the playoff system and the games had meaningful implications?

"These discussions won’t have an impact on the amount of revenue each of the AAC members would receive, according to Aresco. That number was reportedly about $7 million annually per school.

“No school will end up getting less money than they were going to get originally,” Aresco said. “That typically won’t happen, it’s just a question of what adjustments you make and if you make financial adjustments, it still doesn’t mean anybody is going to get less.”"
