wisconsin was ranked #4 last year preseason. they finished 7-5. they are starting a freshman QB and almost an entirely new offensive line.

preseason rankings do not mean a thing.

Last years teams dont mean a thing unless you have a veteran team coming back.

Most of the time, each season is different due to player and coaching turnover and culture changes.  That definately applies to us this year and to Whiskey to a certain extent as well.

how does it apply to us?

we have 9 starters returning on offense including a 5th(6th??) year senior QB and a potential NFL TE and we have 6 starters returning on defense.

15 total returning starters.

9 seniors are listed as starters.

we have the 3rd most starters returning in our conference just 1 behind UConn(16) and SMU(16).

we are the definition of a veteran team.

you are correct in saying that Wisconsin is returning very little. 11 starters return. they have a freshman QB and 4 new starters on their o-line.
