The old academic logo was awesome. Not sure why we needed to change it and put adopt a catchphrase to put down tradition.  I know what they meant by that (probably comparing USF to other colleges), but still.  We have our own tradition to be proud of.

My bad, I thought that you were talking USF specific ....... but I still don't see a problem with two different logos. As far as academic snobbery goes, universities should be academics first so don't see a problem with wanting to have the two different identities.

We don’t disagree, but having two logos dilutes a brand. If you have one great logo like we do, use the piss out of it and strengthen the brand.

The seal can only be used with permission of the president’s office.

I think some of you are confusing the seal with the academic logo. The academic logo was just, "USF" in what looks like Times New Roman font.

The current appearance of usf.edu is what I would expect a USF website to look like. Unified logo’s are a wonderful thing.

Doesn't really matter that much to me one or the other but, and I guess I do have a tinge of academic snobbery, how many preeminent universities have a caricature as part of their academic logo .... and maybe there are a lot, don't really know.

The logos that they now have during the Lightning games at Amalie arena look awesome. Just stick with that imo

Yeah I miss that.  Anyway I guess what they have now is better than Meryll Lynch.
