all of them were dismissed for failing a drug test. charlie strong dismissed them. the ncaa would dismiss them if they failed a drug test for performance enhancing drugs.the ncaa leaves it up to a school to determine the penalties for street drugs.

I tell you what, this dude better get this straight because I’m afraid he doesn’t care if the drives our program in to 5 win choir boys. Listen , this guy doesn’t belong in the college game anymore. Very concerned about next year. Still wondering how we went 7 straight wins to 6 Straight losses. Motherfruckning  Chuck better be be right.

This is something that I've started to take into consideration as well.   Not just in the football coach world but in the regular business world we are kind of going through the same thing.  Every day more and more boomers are aging out of the workforce and are being replaced with Gen Xer's and Millennials bringing new disruptive ideas to their  profession.  We are seeing the same thing in the football coaching world as things like RPO's and spread offenses have infiltrated the NFL where for years and years we were told it wouldn't work there so why try.  We are in the middle of a changing of the guard in many ways and leaders will either retire because they don't agree with where things are going,  refuse to change and get forced to "retire", or adapt and move forward and leave on their own terms.   I think the OC hire will tell us if he's adapting or if he's retiring one way or another....

That's good, but it doesn't say that is the reason that the players were dismissed.  It actually points out that they would have to test positive multiple times before it got to that point according to Texas guidelines.

You ignored the articles that pointed out players were suspended for academic reasons, being arrested for sexual assault, and violating team rules.  But that's ok.  Remember what Vince said:

“Football is like life – it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority.”

naive about what?   Are you saying that there are not articles that point out players were suspended for being arrested for sexual assault and academics?   You are trying to say that CCS has now dismissed 20 players from teams and they are all for weed.  Who is naive?

How about that Lombardi quote?

yes players get suspended for sexual assault(actually they also get arrested for it) and yes players can become academically ineligible. articles have said as much.

this was not the case here. we would see arrest records and it would be stated that they were leaving for academic reasons.

that article was specifically about Strong instituting tougher and more frequent drug testing when he got to texas. it talks about him testing players more than once in short periods of time and at times of the year when they were likely to fail.

he gave Texas a good washing just like he is doing here.

bury your head in the sand if you want to.
