sorry if you don't see how the situations are different.

1 coach is defending the players and helping them fight what could be a 1 year suspension for performance enhancing drugs while the other players are accepting their likely 1 game suspension and not disclosing the reasons.

Either you have a link that Bama players were suspended by the NCAA and not suspended for "violating team rules" as  the article stated or you don't.  If you don't then you are changing facts to fit your narrative

you go head and believe ultra competitive nick saban is going to suspend a starting lineman for a championship playoff game for being late to a team meeting

neither you nor I know what the violation was, but the article says "team rules".  Players get suspended from teams all the time for violating rules.

Hours after Clemson announced three of its players failed a drug test prior to this weekend’s College Football Playoff (CFB) semifinals, Alabama said three of its own players will miss the Tide’s semifinal as well, but for a different reason.

The funny thing is the NCAA bans weed and many other drugs, but CCS is wrong for banning it ......

clemson disclosed they failed a test for performance enhancing drugs which brings with it a 1 year suspension which they will appeal. the alabama players are accepting their suspension probably for 1 game. Dabo is defending the players and I'm sure they want it known if they are innocent so the players disclosed the reasons.

go ahead and believe that all those saintly alabama players couldn't possibly smoke pot and that they were just suspended for missing curfew.....

Sure bud whatever....

I don't care how legal it is or isn't.  If the coach says you don't do weed, then you don't do weed.  I can't show up to work drunk no matter how legal alcohol is.

And do we even know that these guys were suspended for weed or is this more of "fitting a narrative"?

So they were playing games high? Because you can have weed or alcohol in your system without being high\drunk.

Regardless, if they all agreed to not smoke and they broke the agreement then they should get whatever punishment was agreed to.

Interesting to see how a totally veteran fan base handles this on a couple of their forums. No whining about Saban being too much of a disciplinarian ... no pouting about being entitled to a further explanation .... yet, anyway.

Oh please, there were plenty of melt downs in the Mike Dubose, Dennis Franchione, and Mike Shula days.  It's a lot easier to be cool, calm, and collected with a coach with a 140-20 record and 5 National Championships.

You're right, probably a bad example considering ...... I agree then that USF fans have every right to be as whiny and nitpicky as Bama fans.

might be a bit of difference between a program that has won multiple national championships with a coach and a program that has just lost 6 straight games with a guy that destroyed a much better program in similar fashion.

BTW Bama is losing 1 starter for 1 game which had to do with the NCAA testing . Strong just kicked off 11 players for good.

I know you're into semantics so I'm sure you can appreciate the difference.

the ncaa only tests for weed at championship events. the drug tests during the year are for performance enhancing drugs only. they dropped testing for street drugs during the season and have made it up to individual schools to decide what they want to do about it.

strong can do whatever he wants but we will be at a competitive disadvantage because of these suspensions and dismissals.
