Um, part of this isn't fair to USF.

The bowl game gives USF paper tickets. USF has no control over the fact that the paper tickets can't become electronic and emailed, printed. (For the record, this is true of every bowl we have been in, and I would imagine it may be true of every bowl out there). Yes, the bowls do have electronic tickets, but those are not the ones they provide the schools.

Will call really shouldn't be a hassle and a reason not to come.

It is your life and you have to evaluate what you want to do tonight, but as I read your narrative, I think USF gave you good customer service (by getting your tickets to will call), and you had unrealistic expectations.

Good Customer Service was giving us tickets when we renewed our season tickets.

Better Customer Service would have been a note on the manage my tickets screen explaining that these tickets are third party issued and cannot be printed. By not writing that on the webpage, that forced a phone call. During that phone call it was not explained to me that these were third party tickets. They just said "Your tickets will be at will call".

Perhaps noting that these tickets would be available via will call would have helped the situation a bit. As it was, I made a late night trip to my post office mail box to check for the tickets. Then got up early to make the long drive to the game with no tickets in hand.

Also, I get that going to a Will Call booth is not that big of a deal. But the tickets "Showed Up" in the manage my tickets section like they were USF issued tickets. I received no email, no explanation, nothing. There was even a print button but it was grayed out.

Also,  the Will Call booth to me is the equivalent of sending someone a fax in this day and age. Sure a fax machine works just fine but we have the technology to send an email with an attachment. We also have the technology to send a ticket electronically.

I use electronic tickets all the time. If a one time concert can issue electronic tickets, so can a bowl game. This is 2018.

so-- did you go to the game?

If not, I think USF or whoever "failed" you did you a favor.

Some seasons you get jerseys, some bobble heads, some little commemorative trinkets and this season you got an extra kick in the **** with a side of rain.

I say blame Sterling Gilbert or is it the lack of talent in the ticketing department?  Either excuse seems to work ....

I don't know the circumstances, but the first thing I wonder is when did you renew, was it after the priority seating deadline for bowl tickets.

So look, in part we are going to have to agree to disagree on what are fair customer service expectations. But, I want to continue to express that your first post pointed blame at USF employees for something that is not only out of their control, but also the industry standard for bowl games across the country. I felt this was wrong and unfair.

I don't know who you are, we might know each other or maybe we have never met, but here is my background. I spent 16 years working for USF Athletics and saw tons of good people bust their asses for the good of the program, who really care about our school, our teams and our fans. They aren't perfect and they mistakes. I never posted on this board when I worked there, but I certainly did read it. I will always call out unfair criticism, personal attacks (which you didn't do, I'm not saying you did) and things like that. Because I remember reading attacks on me, and remembering how they made me feel and how I knew I couldn't respond.

I missed the whole game too, I kept walking through the parking lot tapping on windows of cars looking for you. I don't even think you showed up.
