Would be interesting to see how it looks with a coordinator calling plays to help them out instead of nothing but down the field long developing plays and inside run plays. 1

No way to tell exactly how King stacks up against other candidates since he's never held the position. Seems a tad risky. He may turn out to be great, but who knows with zero track record at the position... Out of all position coaches, he is the ONLY one who has exceeded expectations every year. Year 1 - QF had his best year ever year 2 - almost had (3) 1000 yard rushers year 3 - Almost had (2) 1000 yards rushers....in addition to the screen shot below. And there's absolutely no guarantee these two coaches have the same career or that either one of them would work out.

Agree but we are still limited. For example Blake is not a roll QB to throw the ball. Maybe more screens and passes to the HB.

Also, outside runs that take advantage of our speed and attacking the middle of the field in the passing game for a change could change how defenses defend us. Yes this OL is limited but I believe they could look much better if we didn't call plays like we have the 90's Cowboys OL up front. Also Blake isn't Quinton Flowers but he's mobile enough to roll him out a bit/move the pocket. It's not like the kid is Mike White when it comes to mobility Edited December 5, 2018 by Bull Dozer

He may turn out to be great, but who knows with zero track record at the position... There will always be some doubt in a hire. My take, no OC at a P5 school is going to come to USF to take the same job at less money. Then your next option is to take an OC from a G5 school with a lower profile than USF. So, like Skip, do they do as well against better competition? If you are going to hire a position coach from a P5, same problem as hiring SK - no experience at OC level. I don't know SK at all. Read here that he was AAC recruiter of the year. That should stand for something but if you brought in a QB coach from UF or somewhere in FL you'd probably be getting a good recruiter. Glad I don't have to make the decision.
