Home teams wear dark colors.. visiting team, light colors.

This is an NCAA rule.

This may be changed in a per game basis if both teams agree in advance in writing.

Recently they modified the rule to allow BOTH teams to wear home colors provided that both teams' colors contrast sufficiently.  I THINK this was changed after some backlash when the NCAA didn't allow USC and UCLA to bring back the tradition of both teams wearing home colors (which they used to do from the 1920's - 1980' when the home/away uniform rule was created)

As long as we keep winning, I say we wear the green uniforms with gold helmets for eternity.

We've always worn green at home. I can't remember a home game when we didn't.

I don't understand what USF wore the dark uniforms thus allowing Georgia Tech wore all white. Earlier in the week a newspaper story mentioned that GT would wilt under our sun. I did in the stands! Sometimes small advantages make a difference. In this case it didn't. The equipment manager should have to answer.

Georgia Tech doesn't have a dark uniform. Both their home and away uniforms feature white jerseys this year. They wear gold pants at home and white pants away. So even if USF wanted to try to wear white, they would not have been able to. Not sure how GA Tech got away with this.

That's not entirely true.  While GT's home and away jerseys are white, they do have an alternate jersey in gold and one in blue.  As far as why they can wear white at home, there are a few schools that have been grandfathered in allowing them the white jerseys.  LSU is another one.

So I guess that means we will be in the green uni's in Atlanta on 9/7/19.

Worked for us in Tallahassee against FSU in September of 2009. Seems like an appropriate way to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of that win.

In summary, the home team wears dark and the away team wears light/white. Both teams must agree prior to allow the home team to where white (ie, USF allowing Pat White/WVU to wear ‘white’ for his last home game’. Let it be known, let it be written.
