Shirt/Allegiance Exchange

I just emailed the head of marketing, Megan MacLeod, and Michael Kelly and suggested that we do a t-shirt/allegiance exchange and really push the idea with the local media. Wanted to see what you guys thought of the idea. There might be strength in numbers if they get multiple emails on the subject. Their email addresses are: michaelskelly@usf.edu and mmacleod1@usf.edu if anyone else wants to reach out to them. The email I sent is below:

Dear Ms. MacLeod:

 

On the heels of Coach Strong's appeal to the local community and media to start actively supporting our Bulls, I thought it would be an interesting and engaging idea to promote a t-shirt/allegiance exchange. Fans would be encouraged to turn in their shirts for one of the other Florida universities (FSU, UM, UF) in exchange for a special edition USF shirt. The new SoFlo designs were a big hit at Fan Fest and I think something featuring those colors and graphics would be well received. You could even consider doing a two-for-one ticket deal to the ECU, UCONN, and Tulane games on a first-come, first served basis. The old shirts could then be donated to local homeless shelters. I'm not sure if this is a viable idea, but it might be a cool promotion that would not only grab local media attention, but also could serve to help get some people into Ray Jay to support the Bulls. You may upset some of our sensitive posters that think either : a) supporting all Florida teams is peachy or b) we have to support FSU because xCWT coaches there  and he once almost coached to a .500 record here.

This is a great idea.  I know Judy kept USF stuff in her car when I was a student and would give kids USF stuff if she saw them wearing other teams stuff around campus.

She definitely pushes hard for employees to get the USF license plate and quizzes them about it if she sees you don't have it on your car.

That seems borderline unethical... a senior leader harassing staff for not making a donation to the school...

She has made it 19 years and is coming into the final 20th year, seems to have been on the right side of the border.
