I think GT also has much higher academic admission requirements than other schools. That may play it's part into making recruiting harder for that school.  Also, in the end, it's about his legacy. He can build an empire at USF, or be average at GT. B/C lets face it, when was the last time GT won a title or made a BCS game? If it was that easy, we would have tons of different teams winning the title. For the next few years I dont see anybody but Alabama, FSU, Ohio State, UM,  Oklahoma or Clemson winning a title. NY6 would probably be the ceiling for him as well at GT. At least USF offers an easier path.

Not likely anytime soon. However, GT can make it to the playoffs by winning their conference. We can't. While it's probably more likely (though an extremely longshot) we go 12-1 or 13-0 this year than GT winning the ACC, it doesn't matter because it won't get us anywhere. Further, GT has at least won their conference relatively recently (2009) while we've yet to do so in our stints in CUSA, BEast, or the AAC. We haven't proven that we can go 12-1 or 13-0 which would be what we'd have to do to even debate whether we'd belong in the playoffs. I'd argue that GT has a better chance than USF to make the playoffs (there's at least a path) though neither GT or USF are likely to do so in the near future.

There really isn't an argument.  Georgia Tech and Vandy both have a shot at the playoffs/NC while USF does not.  Evidenced by ucf's undefeated season last year.  Maybe in 2022 with Texas, Louisville, and UF are on the schedule.  Next year with Wisconsin, GTech, BYU and at CMU???

There's also the opportunity for more $$ for the HC and staff and finances from the conference affiliation.

If Strong says he wants to stay, then I will simply take his word for it until he proves otherwise. Why is this even a debate? lol When or if other schools makes an offer, we will see how he really feels if  he actually goes to an actual interview or not. Why speak negativity into existence?

Sure mathematically they will always have a better shot but in reality they have no shot at all...along with 1/3 of the so called “P5”

LOL All of the  P5 have a "shot" but the reality is that most will never get a title.

And yet, Stanford has the same type of academic challenge as GT and VU, yet they compete for championships virtually every year in every sport they field.

This is something that has always seemed weird to me.
