So we couldn't run the table with our best player ever against the weakest schedule ever but we are gonna start talking about running the table..in 2 years mind you.. against a tough schedule without the aforementioned best player ever/magician/savior of our program from the doldrums of the G5?

Stop the madness.

Real talk.

Those dreams are what fuel people on here to want to shut down the program or boycott games (or whatever) when the dreams aren't realized.  Beastie said it all.

Not having our best player up to this point, doesn't mean that that team might not be better.  I'm not saying that team will be better, but you never know.  Additionally, I don't think anyone is saying that we will go undefeated, just that if we were to, then that year would be our best argument for being in the CFB Playoff.

Can we crash the AAC championship game first? One step at a time.

This says so much. Not only haven't we won it, we haven't gotten into it. For whatever reason we blow our chances while other teams capitalize on theirs.

The threads about USF crashing the CFP in 2019.  Running the table is what it would take to have a shot hence the discussion.  It's not a prediction thread .... lighten up Francis.

Living in the past is what fuels people on here to want to shut down the program or boycott games (or whatever). It's the unfulfilled entitlement feeling that was fueled by the super generous BE invite along with a glorious 7 week span in 2007. Dreams aren't a problem, unrealistic expectations are and this thread is more about dreams than expectations.

I think we're saying the same thing.

The vast majority of our conference mates got out of this god forsaken conference leaving just a small minority of us and two others behind in little league. How is it an unrealistic expectation to get out and not be one of the only three left behind in the reshuffle?

Not really. People with unfulfilled dreams don't go bat**** crazy about shutting down programs/boycotting games like some when their expectations aren't met ...

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
