there will soon  be a slew of lawsuits involving these type of buyouts at college football programs are really being run like a business with a commingling of private funds while the players are required to follow the stringent ncaa rules

Actually the NCAA will be addressing this. The P5 want the one year wait period for a transfer to be abolished and it is gaining steam.

IMO, it should only be waived if the coach leaves or the school is placed on probation.

I agree...it still should be based on a circumstance.

xCWT only looks out for xCWT and that's fine.  Don't think for one minute, if he the UF job were a better job, that he wouldn't jump at it.

he left USF after his fourth year for a better job, that pays more and gets him closer to his goal of being the 1st black head coach to win a national title.....how does that make him a selfish person?

If you don't think CWT would have left USF after year 1 or 2 if Oregon or Florida came calling for him?  You're pretty naive if you fully believe that.  Only reason they didn't is because he was 2-10 and 4-8 his first couple years.

You may be right about it not being a good time for him, logistically-speaking, for him to make a jump, but logistics can easily be put to the back burner if the money is right.  And I have a feeling that if Florida feels he's the one and they show the right amount of cash, CWT is back in the Sunshine State.

That's the definition of selfish.  And I did say, that it's okay for him to do so.  You don't think it would be a good move for him, but it's what he thinks that is important.

Better opportunity is a subjective term.  I've turned down lots of jobs that would pay more because I had lack of confidence in the company or they were in places I wanted to live.  I've gotten to a place in my life where, while making more money would be great, it's not the driving factor in my career decisions.

You are comparing thousands of dollars for what you do, to millions of dollars more and a more guaranteed path to the college playoffs (his career goal). It's a harder path to the playoffs in the SEC than in the Pac12,  so going to UF would only provide him more money and maybe more comfort in terms of a place to live.

also USf is a G5 school and UF is a P5 school, so as much as i love USF,  Oregon is a greater job with more resources. So i would understand him leaving year 1 or 2. But Oregon and UF are pretty even jobs.

He may not leave, but, there could be an agreement to announce it before the end of the year... early signing period and all, it makes sense for UF to want to have it out there to keep recruits.

Also, I don't think Taggart leaving Oregon hurts them too bad, they would immediately hire Chip Kelly and the fans would rejoice. Taggart would be a blip on their radar.

Yeah he'll still be on the sideline but the distraction will spiral out of control & the fanbase is going to be demoralized and angry

I wouldn't be surprised if they lose to SMU Saturday

I hope not. We need UCF ranked more than ever now.

It's gonna be Frost bud, just a matter of time before it comes out.

I know the threat is real and it would really ruin this season for me.

We'll know for sure soon thought bc UF sources can't keep their mouths shut. If Frost refuses to sign the new contract that is going to be offered then he's gone.

Not as much as your loss to us on Black Friday will...

For CWT ... We'll have to agree to disagree.  P5 vs. G5 doesn't even have any bearing in this discussion.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
