Larry Scott's name is thrown around a lot as possible replacement for Strong.

What about Manny Diaz, DC at Miami?  I hate Miami but you can't argue with what he's done with the defense,  With the right OC, could be something.

How about Lawrence Dawsey,  FSU Co-OC/WR coach.

I was sad to see him leave USF.

He's 50 years old with enough experience now to be considered for a head coaching position.

Mama.  I have quite a few FSU friends and they're not high on Dawsey at all and want him run out of town along with most of the FSU assistants.

If he gets canned,  Would love to have him back as a position coach, but I'm not sure about OC or head coach.

I just wonder what they were saying about him when they were doing so well.

FWIW, he was apparently on our short list when we hired CCS.

FSU's Lawrence Dawsey a candidate for USF's head coach opening?

I've been making the case for Diaz for a few weeks. He would be a tremendous hire, plus you would think he wants to stay in state for when Richt retires. He could come here, win a ton of games, then walk back into the role in Miami with all of his recruiting ties intact and experience as a head coach in a very similar environment to Miami.

Interesting quote:

Florida: The Gators need to entertain -- not just score points, entertain. That's their legacy, and it that goes back to Steve Spurrier. That means an elite quarterback. That means points.

While that might be a truism for the Gators, it's even more necessary for the Bulls. (1) we're G5 and style points matter, and (2) there's a LOT more other things to do in Tampa than Gainesville. Competition for the entertainment dollar is tougher.
